Cincinnati Gives a Crock - Frederick Douglass School
Public -by Alison Ulanski

Cincinnati Gives A Crock is an 8 week cooking series designed for students ages 12 and up. The program includes a variety of culinary skills (not just cooking with a crockpot) to allow the students to gain confidence in a variety of cooking methods. During the first few classes, we introduce and build upon knife skills, safe cooking practices and good hygiene. Midway, the students will be gifted their own crockpot. From that point on, classes are focused on prepping their meal to be taken home and cooked in their crockpot. Each recipe will yield enough food to generously feed a family of 4! Throughout the class series, we include discussion around creativity, using what is on hand and encourage being adventurous and healthy eaters. *We ask that if you sign up to volunteer for the GAC series, that you please sign up for at least 4 of the 8 classes. This consistency will help the students become more comfortable and get to know you!
