Cooking Improv: Girl Scouts (class 4-6pm, arr. 3pm
Public -by Corinna Asbury  |  915 In-House Volunteers

Cooking Improv with Rescued Food is a food literacy experience that is a combination of service and education. In the end will provide chopped veggies for our production kitchen and a cooking demo with samples. Cooking Improv encourages people to look at what is on hand and to create a healthy meal with those items. By building knowledge of cooking methods, using our senses and the know-how of using the whole product, one can utilize a limited selection of food without sacrificing their health or how delicious the dish can be. The warm communal aspect of the class encourages participants to enjoy the act of cooking, starting their journey to form a new habit in the kitchen. We think this flexible education is what all new cooks need to make cooking sustainable and realistic.
